STS Staffing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic. Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency in utilizing hand and power tools
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout a shift
Capacity to stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding environment
Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and department Leads
Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and dusty production environment with minimal supervision
Capability to ascend and descend stairs safely
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to take direction from department Leads and collaborate in a team-driven atmosphere
Proficiency in wearing and utilizing all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, gloves, eye protection, ear plugs, steel toe footwear, non-slip gear, and welding/cutting protection, among others
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanic will conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services on industrial equipment to ensure their optimal operation.
This role entails on-shift equipment and facility maintenance, on-the-spot troubleshooting support, and participation in improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and throughput.
The ideal candidate will conduct periodic inspections, preventive maintenance, testing, and adjustments to maintain processing systems at peak operating condition.
Adherence to safety principles and procedures mandated by the organization is paramount.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operations and performs scheduled maintenance during machine service.
Troubleshoots machinery for scheduled production runs and conducts mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs on packaging and production machines.
Conducts equipment modifications on existing machinery and assists in the fabrication and installation of new equipment.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to execute necessary maintenance and service tasks.
Maintains conveyors, pumps, fans, and other process equipment.
Proficient in oxy-acetylene and electric arc welding and cutting of carbon steel.
Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change, expansion, reduction, or deletion to align with the evolving business needs of the organization.
Understanding and adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety rules, in addition to compliance with OSHA Safety and health regulations.
